Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Sarah & Joe – Engagement Shoot

Last weekend saw us in York at the gorgeous Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel with Sarah and Joe. The day was beautiful so, after we had sat down with a nice tea & coffee and sorted out all the final details for their wedding in August, we got straight out into the grounds.

We had been told by the wedding co-ordinator that there was a very nice bridge over a duck pond that looked great in photos. The only down-side was it was right in the middle of the fairway. So, with Kelly watching out for any stray golf balls flying overhead, we braved a few shots on the bridge.

After asking Sarah to complete one of our ‘Interview with the Bride’ sheets we found out that Joe is a born romantic and won’t let anything get in his way, golf-balls or extreme weather warnings alike. For their engagement, Joe insisted that they go for a walk at Castle Howard even though it was the middle of November and the snow was keeping almost everyone inside. After finally agreeing to go with him (Sarah really wanted to go shopping) they climbed to the top of a hill which had some amazing views of the grounds and stopped for a flask of coffee and a biscuit. However, instead of getting a biscuit Sarah was presented with a beuatiful Tiffany engagement ring. Of course she said yes…

Joe is quite tall and I couldn’t help spotting that Sarah had to go up on tip-toes in order to kiss him so I had to get the shot.

We had a lovely afternoon getting to know Joe and Sarah – and avoiding near death from low flying golf balls – and we can’t wait to see them again on their big day in August.
