Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Enjoy...

Sarah & Joe – Aldwark Manor Wedding

It’s been a very busy time at Peter Boyd Photography over the last month with weddings to shoot and edit, a few networking soirees to attend and a much-needed weekend break in the Lakes to catch a breather. However, now we’re back it’s about time I got the blog up to date to show you what we’ve been up to.

August saw us attending the wedding of Sarah & Joe, a lovely couple from York, who got married at Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel York. We’d shot their pre-wedding shoot at the same location (blog post here) so we already had an idea of the best spots to take pictures. That said, the perfect weather on the day threw up a few unexpected delights – which is always nice! Anyway, scroll down to see some of my favourites from the day…

Sarah had made these Bride and Bridesmaid dressing gowns herself. We love it when our brides put in little details like this.

The hair and make-up were both done by Bonnie Belton. Sarah says that she knew she was going to book Bonnie the moment she met her as she had a fantastic personality and was honest about what looked good (and what didn’t) in a nice way!

The beautiful wedding dress came from Brides of York and Sarah says that they made the whole experience of choosing and buying THE dress very special.

If you read the pre-wedding blog you’ll see how romantic Joe is and there was no let up on romance when it came to the engagement ring itself. Joe specifically organised a work trip in order to be able to buy Sarah’s ring from Tiffany & Co. Take note anyone who is about to propose!

Meanwhile Kelly was with the boys while they were getting ready…

The wedding rings were custom made at London’s famous Hatton Garden. The bright blue background is actually a plastic chopping board that Kelly found. The boys had just washed it up by the way.

This is Sarah and Joe’s beloved cat affectionately known as ‘The Beast’. He’s so famous he even got a mention during the Best Men’s speech.

Just after the evening meal we saw that the sun was setting pretty spectacularly outside so we asked if Sarah and Joe were alright to pop out for some quick snaps. They were and we did. I’m very glad we did because I think these turned out great.

The evenings entertainment saw the guests rocking out to wedding band Friends Of The Bride

Sarah and Joe had booked our PhotoBooth for the evening and, as usual, the guests loved it.
