Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Sarah & Howard – Donnington Grove Wedding

Last weeked found Peter Boyd Photography down in the sunny South with Sarah and Howard – and it was sunny. The venue was Donnington Grove, an extremely impressive 18th Century gothic house in Newbury. As usual I dropped Kelly off with the lads to get some photos of their preparations while I drove onto Donnington where the bridal party were getting ready.

Some details – shoes, bouquet and the gorgeous dress…

It seems to me that the more beautiful a dress is the harder they make it to get into. Not only did Sarah’s dress have corset lacing at the back it also had about a thousand buttons. In the end I had to lend a hand as every one else was totally flummoxed! This is not a service I usually provide but as I’ve photographed quite a few dresses being done up I seem to be getting quite the expert.

Finally ready to go.

Meanwhile, Kelly was with the boys at Sarah and Howard’s house.

It was here that she found the remnants of breakfast…

The lads had been so organised that morning that when Kelly turned up they were already dressed. This meant that there was time for some serious relaxing.

And also a quick game of footie in the back garden.

This was short lived though as one of the groomsmen apparently broke the goal with a pretty spectacular shot. So Kelly went indoors to get a quick snap of the rings.

The Groom then travelled to the venue in style…

The ceremony.

The wedding party.

After the group shots we got to take Sarah and Howard away for a bit of peace and quiet and a chance to get some lovely couple shots. As the grounds were so large we were given a couple of golf buggy’s to use to get around which we all had fun in.

Once we got back the wedding breakfast started and I took the chance to get a shot of the amazing cake.

After dinner Sarah and Howard had their first dance together as newlyweds.

It was an absolutely fantastic day and we wish Sarah and Howard all the best on their Honeymoon and for the rest of their lives together as Husband and Wife.
