Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Polia & Mick’s Wedding Day

Last weekend we had the great pleasure of joining Polia and Mick on their wedding day. In the morning I met up with Polia at their newly renovated house (a joint enterprise involving both families) just around the corner from the ceremony venue.

I love the pajama and veil look – it should definitely catch on…

The Mother of the Bride was very impressed that a male photographer was getting shots of the shoes!

And talking about shoes – the Bride’s vintage shoes were a wedding photographer’s dream – so unique.

The dress was as beautiful as the shoes, but as with most wedding dresses, took a bit of getting into.

Whilst I was with the girls, Kelly was with the guys at the Jury’s Inn hotel not far away. She found Mick very calmly drinking a cup of tea in the restaurant. Then some of the groomsmen turned up and Mick handed out some lovely gifts. Polia and Mick had bought each of the groomsmen their own pair of cufflinks to wear at the wedding.

Then Mick went upstairs to get ready and made sure that Kelly took a photo as evidence to Polia that he HAD brushed his teeth!!! So here’s the proof.

The rings…

Here’s the Best Man proving that he had the rings…

The girls had spent some of their morning making the buttonholes themselves.

The ceremony venue was the Holy Trinity Platt Church in Manchester. When we first met Polia and Mick they were a little upset as they had just been told that they would have to change their venue as the church was being renovated. However, due to a brilliantly-timed delay, the church became available and they were able to get back in which was great for us because it was a beautiful church.

I always love getting the shot of when the bride and groom first see each other.

The whole ceremony was very personal as Polia and Mick knew the vicar well. It was also very light and funny which mirrored their personalities brilliantly.

The weather that day was what us Brits call ‘changeable’ but we managed to get outside for some group shots during breaks in the rain. It was a tad windy though.

Later in the day we grabbed another break in the weather to go out around the reception venue, The Castlefield Rooms, and get some couple shots. After going out with them on their pre-wed shoot we knew they were both up for anything and we had seen some great locations around the venue that suited them perfectly.

We then got back into the venue just before it started raining again and in time for them to cut the cake and have their first dance.

Polia & Mick chose our PhotoBooth add-on with their photography package, which ended up being a fantastic decision as everyone had a great time!

Thank you Polia and Mick for being such a great couple and making our jobs very easy. We hope you have a great Honeymoon and wish you both all the best for your married life.
