Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Mikron Theatre – “Can You Keep A Secret?”

Another side to my work documenting the UpRising Festival for The Lawrence Batley Theatre is getting involved with the individual companies also taking part in the year-long project. One such company is Mikron Theatre, a small touring theatre company based in Marsden. They’ve produced a piece of theatre based on the events leading up to the assassination of mill owner William Horsfall. Featuring only four players, a wooden stile and a host of musical instruments, the play is touring around the country, by both road and the company’s own narrowboat – allowing them to ‘reach audiences that other companies cannot’!

The Rehearsals

The Opening Night

The first performance took place at Oakwell Hall in Birstall. The night was a great success, with a large audience that filled the ‘old barn’.
