Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Kate & Matthew – Winter Wedding #2!

As promised in my previous entry here is the first of many posts from the vaults of Peter Boyd Photography. Back in December I was lucky enough to be asked by Barnaby Aldrick to be 2nd shooter at a wedding of his in York. The lovely Kate & Matthew were tying the knot at The Hospitium (part of York’s museum gardens). As usual Barnaby began the day with the bride, whilst I documented the groom and his best man.

It’s the little details that count…

The lads getting ready.

The rings were on hand for a sneaky snap.

The boys get their pose on!

Button-hole detail…

Then it was off to The Hospitium and a chance to capture a few details before the bride arrived. The cake was beautiful…

Then the bride arrived! The bouquet…

The snow was still on the ground, but it wasn’t too cold to get some outside portraits. Here’s a shot of the beautiful bride…

The museum grounds also play host to some impressive ruins, so we had to take advantage of such a stunning backdrop…

I think the lamp post adds an nice touch…

The newlyweds…

It was a brilliant day and I wish Kate and Matthew all the very best for their future together.
