Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Gemma & Jamie – Engagement Shoot

As mentioned in the previous post, it’s a busy time at Boyd Towers. Part of that ‘busy’ included a recent pre-wedding shoot with Gemma & Jamie. They’re getting married at The Treasurer’s House in York, moving on to the National Railway Museum for the reception – no shortage of photo opportunities then!…

As is usual practice if we haven’t shot at a particular location before, we met the couple at their venue so we could all have a good nosey around to find the best spots for photographs – here’s a few of my faves…

If you like what you see please feel free to leave comments at the end of this post, or click the ‘like’ button!

The Treasurer’s House has this awesome big old door that just oozes texture…

It’s nice to see a venue care so much about the environment. There’s even a little frog ramp in the fountain to help them get out!

For those unfamiliar with York, The Treasurer’s House is right next door to York Minster – so we popped across to get some shots in the Minster gardens…

The little guy on the left kept interrupting our photoshoot expecting to be fed!…

We had a lot of laughs on this shoot and we can’t wait for Gemma and Jamie’s big day – especially as they’re having a ‘British’ theme for the wedding! Look out for the blog post in September…
