Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Exposure Leeds – Architecture Photo Walk

Last weekend I joined 20 or so fellow snappers from the Exposure Leeds network for a walk around the centre of Leeds with the intent of capturing lots of images of impressive architecture.

Undeterred by the drab, overcast skies and lower-than-comfortable tempurature we met up at a coffee shop in the city centre ready to take on the challange ahead. Despite starting off at the same time we soon separated into smaller groups – determined only by the shared desire to photograph the same subjects along the way.

The walk itself was designed to lead us anti-clockwise around the city centre – starting at City Square – leading us past the train station, through Granary Wharf, along the river to Brewery Wharf and then to The Royal Armories for lunch. Once refuelled we were to head North to continue our loop, but (I’m almost ashamed to say) the cold got the better of me so I headed back to the car to call it a day!

Despite my weakness I did manage to get a few choice snaps along the way:

For most of my walk I was accompanied by Paula and her son Ollie. Paula is a fellow wedding snapper, who’s work can be viewed here.

The last few pictures aren’t strictly architecture, but Paula let me have a play with her fisheye lens – so I HAD to post a few of them!

Big thanks go to Jon Eland for putting together a fun day. It was great to meet some new faces and hopefully I’ll see you again soon…
