Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

BuN Wedding Showcases – Nostell Priory & Rise Hall

The last three Sundays on the trot we’ve been exhibiting at wedding fayres all over Yorkshire, two of which deserve a special mention as they were so well organised (and sooo busy)! The fayres in question were both organised by Julia Braime of Brides Up North, a popular wedding blog and supplier directory, and took place at two fantastic venues that are both run by the excellent staff at Dine Services.

The first venue was Nostell Priory, a National Trust property situated near Wakefield. The main house itself is available for ceremonies, however the Orangery and Riding School have recently undergone a extensive face-lift and are now looking stunning.

The second venue is, perhaps, a little more famous – having been the subject of C4’s ‘Restoration Nightmare‘ show featuring Sarah Beeny. Rise Hall has always been in our target sights as a venue of choice, so it was with great delight that accepted the chance to exhibit at the wedding fayre. Those of you who watched the show will know, the amount of work (and love) that has gone into the restoration is astounding – and there’s still more to do!

Here’s Matt from Dine showing a potential client around Rise Hall’s impressive facilities.

We had a great day at both venues and spoke to lots of lovely couples. We’ve already made a booking from one fayre and still have more meetings to attend, so fingers crossed!
