Peter Boyd Photo Blog bio picture

Hello and welcome

I'm a photographer based in Yorkshire who specialises in wedding,
portrait and headshot photography. I also undertake commercial
commissions, including interior photography, theatre productions and
event coverage.

I am married to Kelly, my long suffering wife, and we live in Huddersfield with our cat, Simon.

I've always had a passion for photography, from watching my grandad
repair old cameras in his spare room to looking through the press
photography of my godfather.

I endeavour to create detailed, stunning and memorable images and my mantra is simple:- there's beauty in everything!

So, sit back with a cuppa and have a browse through my blog. Comments
are always welcome, so don't be shy (Although I will delete anything
that is abusive or makes fun of my hair!)

Anna & Julian’s National Railway Museum Wedding

As promised recently, below is a selection of pictures from the wedding of Anna & Julian at The National Railway Museum in York. In contrast to a recent wedding reception we’d shot there (see here for the images), Anna & Julian had chosen to use the venue for their ceremony as well. We’d already shot their engagement pictures there (blog post here), but the Museum is certainly a little different to the venues we’re used to shooting in – the low lighting and cavernous halls present some interesting technical challenges – but hey, who doesn’t enjoy a challenge from time to time!

Anyway, here are a few of my favourites – If you like what you see please feel free to leave comments at the end of this post, or click the ‘like’ button!

As a wedding photographer I’m used to manouvering around small hotel rooms filled with people getting ready, but this was one of the more extreme examples!

Anna and her Bridesmaids’ hair and make-up were all done by Revive Hair Design and Anna told us that we had to mention them as they were so great.

Anna all preened and ready to go…

Meanwhile, Kelly caught the guys trying to figure out their cravats…

Kelly is particularly proud of this image – and I think rightly so!

I included this image as I like the contrast of wedding attire and urban landscape.

The bouquets were from Ups a Daisy and made from silk flowers. Anna said that she couldn’t recommend them more!

These ‘ponies’ were hand-made to Anna’s specification in America and shipped over to be cake-toppers. How’s that for dedication?

Our ever-popular PhotoBooth was setup for the evening reception and, as usual, went down a storm with the guests!

We had such a unique and fun day. Here’s to a future filled with happiness and prosperity.
