Ok, so here we are again with a wedding that we photographed some time ago. We are slowly catching up after our little emergency jaunt to Scotland. Thanks everyone for your patience. Anyway, today it’s the lovely, local wedding of Donna & Luke. The venue of choice was The Old Golf House which, for a pleasant change, is only 10 minutes from our home.
So, as we do for every wedding, Pete spent the morning with the girls getting ready and I spent it with the guys. Unlike some people we believe that the Groom is also a little bit important and should also get his part of the day documented! Controversial I know!:)
Anyway, here’s a few favourites from the day…

Pete met Donna at Saks in Halifax where her sister, who is conveniently a hairdresser, works some of the time.
Then they moved on to The Old Golf House to finish the preparations.
Sister Jodie working her magic on Donna’s hair. She owns her own salon in Halifax – Bilouair. Always nice when you’ve got talented people in the family.
Meanwhile I found my way to Luke’s Best Man’s house where the boys were getting ready. Where me and the Best Man had one of those ‘I think I know you’ moments and eventually realised he was at another wedding we’d photographed last year. We get around.
Just in case Luke forgot his role for the day…
The boys ready to go.
Back with the girls.
Donna also has a friend that just so happens to be a great florist and created the beautiful bouquet – Gabriella Brook Floristry
And here’s Donna – looking fantastic and ready to go (we won’t tell anyone how late you were to the ceremony though Donna… )
The Groom waiting very patiently for his Bride to Be.
Donna’s mum finally got her down the aisle. I think Luke thinks it was worth the wait.
Their family had organised a surprise ‘Dove Release’ for them after the ceremony. Aaaaaahhhhhh lovely.
Unfortunately for the Doves it was tipping it down outside just after the ceremony. Didn’t really matter that much to us though as it just meant we did the family group shots inside.
But then, as is always the case in England, the rain passed quickly and we got outside for the Bridal Party shots.
Back inside and straight to the gorgeous cake. If you choose Peter Boyd Photography for your wedding photography you can always guarantee some great shots of the cake because Pete has quite a big sweet tooth. I think he’d let people pay us in cake!
The First Dance…
Where the girls decided Donna needed a little help dancing in her dress.
We had an amazing day with Donna and Luke and hope that they managed to get off to their Honeymoon in Santorini.
